The World Rugby Rankings are calculated using a Points Exchange system. In this system, teams gain or lose points based on the match result. The points exchanged are determined by the difference in ranking points between the two teams, as well as the match result (win, draw, or loss).

Chile's Rise in Rankings

Chile's national rugby union team has made significant progress in the World Rugby Rankings in recent years. In 2021, the team moved up several places in the rankings, and is now knocking on the door of the top 20. This rise in the rankings is due in part to Chile's strong performance in international competitions, including the Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifiers.
